Match Day 10 (October 24th 2021) Report

NUNEATON & DISTRICT SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE 

Royal Athletic closed the gap on Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two leaders Whitestone to three points this week thanks to a 9-0 win over Bedworth Liberals Res. Isaac Francis helped himself to a hat trick with the singles coming from Tom Poultney, Robson Brushett. Dean Reeves, Troy Baker, Jack Millard and Nick Sayer. SS Bulls Head, in third place, went down 5-3 to Swan Dive, Kaine Finch scored twice for Bulls Head, Lewis Alleston the other, but a Nathan McInnes hat trick and singles from Sean Royal and Declan MaCauley, secured the points for Swan Dive.

Jamie Matthews hit the target for Collycroft Royal Oak Warriors but goals from George Arnold and Liam Hill saw Crows Nest run out 2-1 winners. Jordan White bagged four goals for Acorn in their 7-2 win over Barwell Cricketers and three point to take them into fifth. Steve Merry, Darren Pierce and Craig Harris completed the Acorn scoring, Jordan Armstrong scored both Barwell replies.

Danny Taylor and Danny Harris both found the net for Poplar Athletic in Bond St Trophies Hinckley Premier One, as they beat Witherley United 2-1, to move into second spot. Ben Beresford scored the Witherley goal. Aaron Hough scored on his debut for Haunchwood Sports but they went down 2-1 to Draytpn, while a brace from Lewis Commins and singles from Elliot Stone, Jake Aston, Scott Warr and Scott McEwan gave Ridge Lane a 6-1 win over Lamb & Flag. A hat rick from Alex Moore and a double from Charlie Cook helped Fuzzy Duck to all three points in a 5-4 win over Frank Parker.

Rogue Elite are within three points of Drayton Res at the top of EJ Group Ltd Division One after they beat Chetwynd Phoenix 10-1. Joe Smith-Walker scored the Chetwynd consolation. Adam Zia bagged a hat trick for Hansom Cabs as they went on to beat Bedworth Liberals 7-3. Jes Adcock 2, Jake Brown and Liam Storer scored their other goals, Liam Holmes, Kenny Smith and Kelvin Etheridge replied for Liberals. Ben Court was on target for Bedworth Conservatives but they went down 2-1 to Griff & Coton Manor.

Trent Valley and The Chase sit joint top of Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three separated only by goal difference. Trent Valley beat Red Lion Sapcote 4-2 while Chase beat Attleboro 5-3. Scott Hall scored twice for Attleborough, Kane Newsom the other. Steve Pywell scored both Sunnyside goals in their 2-1 win over Attleboro Sports, while Ambleside and Haunchwood Sports Res shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Charlie Barritt scored twice, Danny Austin a single as Grendon Res maintained their two point lead at the top of Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four with a 3-2 win over Griff & Coton Manor Res. Danny Devall, Ashley Clark and Kieran Clayton all found the net for second placed Coniston as they also won 3-2 against White Hart. Red Lion (Barwell) travelled to take on Conny Panthers, with goals from Macauley Fellows and Micky Sparks helped them to a 3-1 win, the third being an own goal , Reece Simmons got the Panthers consolation.

Bermuda Park enjoyed a 7-1 win over Attleboro Sports Res to move into mid table. Safar Limbu 2, Ryan Healey, Stu Pearson, Lewis Davis, Joe Kavanagh and Ashley Mantack all found the net for Bermuda. Sam Wing replied for Attleboro. Jonathan Bates scored his second goal in two games for Lamb & Flag Res but they eventually went down 5-1 to Phoenix Utd.
