The weather wiped out the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division programme, but in the main the bulk of the fixtures survived the rain.
Congratulations should go to Swan Dive whose gallant run in the Birmingham Amateur Cup, ended when they lost 5-1 against Sutton & District Sunday League, Beacon Cat & Fiddle in Round 3. It has to be noted that Beacon Cat & Fiddle play in their Leagues Premier Division, being given dispensation by the BCFA Executive to play in the Amateur Cup. The NDSFL made representations to BCFA but these were denied, so Swan Dive performance should be congratulated – WELL DONE !
Griff & Coton Manor have opened a one-point lead at the top of EJ Group Ltd Division One after beating Chetwynd Phoenix 5-3. Jack Price scored twice for Griff with Rees Swain, Ryan Bell and Oliver Covill adding the singles. Daniel Laws scored twice in reply for Chetwynd, Paul Harrison their other goal. Bedworth Conservatives came from behind three times in their game with Drayton Res to eventually draw 4-4. Richard Horsfall scored twice for Conservatives, Lee Wallace, and player manager Danny Foster the others. Bedworth Travellers moved into fifth spot thanks to their 6-1 win over Saunders, goals from Blaine Shepperd (2), James Piggon (2), singles from Callum Pitcher and Connor Kendall sealed the win, Cameron Stubbs scored Saunders consolation.
Ashby Road Sports moved into second spot in Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two thanks to a close 2-1 win over Bedworth Liberals Res. Alex Ball and Nick Richardson with the goals. Connor Beasley’s hat trick for Barwell Cricketers helped them to a high scoring 6-5 win over Athletico Duke to move into mid table. Ben Adams, Tom Duplock, and an own goal made up the Barwell score line, Ellis Green and Lee Lovett both scored twice in reply for Athletico with Matt Ellis scoring their other goal. Crows Nest Sports are up to fifth courtesy of their 4-1 win over Stoneycroft United. Two goals in the last five minutes for Royal Athletic saw them take maximum points from a 3-2 win over SS Bulls Head. Royal took the lead, but Lewis Alleston and Ian McKay’s solo effort saw Bulls Head in front before the late goals.
Trent Valley have a two-point lead at the top of Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three after they beat CJ’s Athletic 4-0, and second placed Sunnyside drew 3-3 with Chase. Steve Pywell scored two of the Sunnyside goals, Corey Cousins the other, with Josh Varden (2) and Daniel Rust replying for Chase. Ambleside stay third after they drew 1-1 with Attleboro Sports. George Lindley on target for Ambleside, with Evan Scott relying for Sports.
Tarro Lounge Caterpillar took the honours in the all Hinckley tussle with Red Lion (Barwell) 4-2, a hattrick from Noel Gilbert with the other from Nathan Turner did the damage. Luke Newton and Riley Poxon replied for Red Lion.
Coniston’s 7-2 win over Lamb & Flag Res has enabled them to close the gap on Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four leaders Grendon Res to two points. Josh Barnett and Luke Hand scored the Lamb & Flag Res goals. Adam Eales and Matthew Skraga both found the net for Griff & Coton Manor Res as they shared the points in a 2-2 draw with Phoenix Utd. Josh Smith and James Robertson replied for Phoenix Utd.
