Match Day 20 (January 16th 2022) Report



Change of leadership at the top of the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division where Poplar Athletic now sit on top of the pile after beating Ridge Lane 6-2 with Ryan Harkin bagging a hat trick. Harry Donovan, Chris Sockett and Danny Harris completed the scoring, Sam Gibbs, and Josh McEwan both replied from the bench for Ridge Lane. Grendon slipped off top spot after they went down 4-2 to Hartshill Sports. Jude Bennett, Aden Moore, Daniel Edmonds, and Tom Bates scored the Hartshill goals. Brady Middleton scored twice for Fuzzy Duck as they went on to beat Witherley Utd 4-1. Dale Badge and Lee Waters added the others, Marcus Copper replied for Witherley. Frank Parker leap frogged over Ridge Lane into mid table thanks to their 6-2 win over Haunchwood Sports. 

Rogue Elite extended their lead at the top of EJ Group Ltd Division One to six points after they beat second placed Hansom Cabs 4-2, while Griff & Coton Manor took over third spot from Drayton Res after they beat them 4-1.  Matthew Crowshall grabbed a hat trick for Saunders as they moved into mid table thanks to an 8-2 win over Chetwynd Phoenix. Stephen Gibson-Hill and Danny Marston scored two apiece, Liam Aston the other. A Lee Wallace last minute winner from the penalty spot helped Bedworth Conservatives to all three points as they beat Bedworth Liberals 3-2. Wallace had scored earlier in the game along with Matty Broadhurst to level the scores at 2-2. 

Jack Birchell scored twice for Collycroft Royal Oak Warriors as they went on to beat Ashby Road Sports 4-1 and close the gap on Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two leaders Whitestone to four points. Dylan Ashfield and Daniel Piggon also found the net for Collycroft. Matt Mangtante replied for Ashby Road. Third placed Acorn  slipped to a 6-3 defeat to Swan Dive, Ryan White, Steve Merry and Darren Burrage scored the Acorn goals. Connor Pugh and Ben Wright both scored twice for Athletico Duke as they edged past Crows Nest Sports 4-3, while Lewis Dunkley, Kaine Finch and Mark Smith’s last-minute winner gave SS Bulls Head a 3-2 win over Bedworth Liberals Res.

Trent Valley maintained their 100% record at the top of Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three thanks to a 10-2 win over Haunchwood Sports Res. Daniel Cassidy weighed in with four goals, Joe Joe Wilson contributed a hat trick. Jordan Mullvihill 2 and Jack Shillcock added the others. Kyle Olner and Jack Price replied for Haunchwood. Ryan Potter scored twice for Attleborough FC as they went on to beat Attleborough Sports 3-1 in the local derby. Scott Hall scored the other Attleboro goal, Charlie Watts replied for Sports. George Davis and Braydon Yorke both found the net for Red Lion Sapcote as they beat Ambleside 2-1. Lee Wilkins scored the Ambleside goal. 

Grendon Res increased their lead at the top of Raihans Indian Takeaway Division Four to eight point s after they beat third placed Tarro Lounge Caterpillar 4-2. White Hart slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Griff & Coton Manor Res while goals from Max Holtman, Landon Fairbrother, James Harris, and Alec Cullen earned Bedworth Bank all three points in a 4-1 win over Conny Panthers. Kieran Coleman Smith scored the Panthers goal. Riley Poxon, Mikey Sparkes and Danny Winterbotham all scored twice for Red Lion Barwell as they beat New Baron Lions 8-0. Luke Newton and Brandon Starkey added the singles. James Marriott found the net for Lamb & Flag Res, but they lost 2-1 to Attleborough Sports Res.
