MATCH DAY 27- REPORT (SUNDAY MARCH 6th 2022)
LEAGUE ONE CHAMPIONS RACE - 2 HORSE RACE

The race for the  EJ Group Ltd Division One   title looks like going to the last games of the season with both Rogue Elite and Hansom Cabs battling it out for top spot. Leaders Rogue Elite beat bottom club Bedworth Conservatives 14-0 with goals from Jordon Hemsley (4), with doubles from Ben Bates, Kieran Alleyne, Lewis Hopewell, Bradley Corbet and Kevin McEwan to maintain a three-point lead, whilst five goals from Jay Adcock helped Hansom Cabs to a 7-0 win over Bedworth Travellers. Jordan Rushton and Jake Brown added the singles.

The only game to take place in Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two saw Athletico Duke and Ashby Road Sports share the points inn a 2-2 draw. Connor Pugh and Jacob Townsend scored the Duke goals with Matt Mangiante replying for Sports.

Haunchwood Sports Res picked up all three points from their bottom of the table clash with CJs in
Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three after they won 9-1. Mark Williams scored four of those goals, Jake Wilson two more. Samuel Laight, Darren Adams, and Liam Brown with the singles. Jordan Jacques replied for CJ’s.

Attleborough FC leap frogged over Chase into third spot after they beat them 3-0 with Ryan Potter scoring twice and Liam Potter adding the other. Attleborough trail second placed Sunnyside on goal difference after they were held to a 2-2 draw with Ambleside. Owen Bolesworth scored on his Sunnyside debut while Steve Pywell bagged his 20th of the season.

Coniston Tavern closed the gap on Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four leaders Grendon Res to three points after they beat Bedworth Bank Res 2-1. Third placed Tarro Lounge Caterpillar beat Attleboro Sports Res 8-1, with goals from Nathan Turner (4), Noel Gilbert (2), Scott Goodenaugh and Harvery Burchell Sports reply came from Jack Bolstridge.  Bermuda Park moved into sixth spot after they drew 1-1 with Phoenix.

With cup games back after the Covid break, Grendon Res moved into round three of the Brian Dowsett Memorial Cup thanks to a 10-2 win over Attleboro Sports. Jamie King and Ryan Dingley both grabbed hat tricks, Danny Pollett added a brace. Danny Austin and Steve Jakovlevs, the singles. Mason Hallam scored both Attleboro goals.

Connor McEwan and Lewis Collins both found the net for Ridge Lane as they beat Hartshill Sports 2-0 in the Premier Challenge Trophy and to try and secure a hat trick of wins.

Collycroft Royal Oak came from behind to eventually beat Barwell Cricketers 4-1 and secure them a spot in the second round of the  Division Two Challenge Trophy. Connor Beasley gave Barwell the lead but goals from Jamie Matthews 2, Dylan Ashfield and Kyle Aubrey secured the win. Josh Atkinson and Darren Page both found the net for S S Bulls Head, but they would eventually draw 2-2 with Crows Nest Sports who had goals from George & Jamie Arnold which took the tie into penalty kicks. Crows Nest won the penalty shoot out 4-2.

In the  League Four Challenge Trophy  two goals from Alex Taylor and another from Steve McMenamin saw White Hart beat Red Lion Barwell 3-1. Riley Poxon scored the Red Lion goal. Matthews Skragga’s hat trick helped Griff & Coton Manor Res to a 4-1 win over Lamb & Flag Res, Jack Price scored their other goal. Jake Baxter replied for Lamb & Flag.
