WEEKLY REPORT - MATCH DAY 29 (March 20th 2022)

Poplar Athletic are back on top of Bond St Trophies Hinckley Premier One after a hat trick from Danny Taylor helped them to a 4-2 win over Lamb & Flag. Ryan Quinn scored the other Poplar goals, Harry Morrison and Craig Ashby replied for Lamb & Flag. Witherley Utd jumped into mid table courtesy of their 3-1 win over Hartshill Sports. Jordan Coles scored twice, Owen Evans the other. Kieran Palmer replied for Hartshill.

Barwell Cricketers consolidated their fourth spot in Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two but had to share the points with Athletico Duke in their high scoring 6-6 draw. The two teams have contributed twenty-three goals in their home and away games this season with Barwell winning the reverse game 6-5 in December. Connor Pugh bagged four of the Athletico Duke goals, Kaine Finch and Lee Lovett added the singles. Connor Beasley’s brace and singles from Tom Duplock, Ben Adamas, Jordan Armstrong, and Jack Smith secured a point for Barwell.

Jacob Bryan, Steve Pywell, Ryan Potter, and Liam Potter all found the net for Attleborough as they beat Ambleside 4-2 to move into second spot in Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three. Harry Lewis and Stephen Hamilton replied for Ambleside.

Dipen Gurung, Stefan Grudzinski, Ashley Mantack and Lewis Davis all found the net for Bermuda Park as they beat Lamb & Flag Res 4-0 to move into fifth place in Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four. Alex Taylorson bagged a brace for White Hart as they edged passed Conny Panthers 3-2 to stay in fourth. Jamie Barsby scored the other White Hart goal, Jason Legg, and Alex Taylor for Conny Panthers. Riley Poxon and Jack Chamberlain’s free kick from his own half, helped Red Lion Barwell to a 2-1 win over Griff & Coton Manor Res.

Swan Dive and Trent Valley will meet each other in the semi final of the Brain Dowsett Memorial Cup after both secured quarter final wins. Jimmy Dillon and Luke Spencer both found the net for Swan Dive as they beat Bedworth Bank Res 2-0, while Trent Valley came from behind with goals from Travis Mowe and Stephen Foster to beat Tarro Lounger Caterpillar 2-1. Harry Wileman had given Tarro Lounge the lead.

In the Premier Challenge Trophy, Ridge Lane edged passed Haunchwood Sports 5-3 on penalties after both teams finished level at 1-1. Mark Williams scored the Haunchwood goals Jake Warmington replied for Ridge Lane.

In the League One Challenge Trophy, Elliot Chamberlain scored twice for Chetwynd Phoenix, but they eventually went down 4-2 to Griff & Coton.

Corey Cousins and Ross McIver both scored twice for Sunnyside Inn as they beat Attleborough Sports 4-1 in the League Three Challenge Trophy.

Charlie Gilks, Danny Pallet, Jamie King, and Lee Grogan all found the net for Grendon Res as they moved a step closer to a league and cup double with a 4-1 win over Attleboro Sports Res in the League Four Challenge Trophy. Dan Peer scored the Attleboro goal.
