Match Day 5 (September 19th 2021) Report

NUNEATON & DISTRICT SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE 

Bedworth Bank took over top spot in Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four thanks to a 3-0 win over Bermuda Park. Alec Cullen scored two of the Bedworth Bank goals with sub, Mitchell Harris adding the other. White Hart also enjoyed a 3-0 win against Griff & Coton Manor Res to move into second while overnight leaders Phoenix Utd slipped to a 4-1 defeat to Tarro Lounge Caterpillar. Jake Wheldon found the net for Lamb & Flag Res, but they went down 2-1 to Conny Panthers while Grendon Res moved into fourth spot thanks to their 4-2 win over Attleboro Sports Res. 

Grendon sit top of Bond St Trophies Hinckley Premier One courtesy of their third straight league win, beating Fuzzy Duck 5-3. Poplar Athletic move into second after goals from Lewis Noon 2, Joe Miles, Danny Harris, and Chris Morewood gave them a 5-0 win over Haunchwood Sports. Aden Moore scored twice for Hartshill Sports as they went on to beat Lamb & Flag 4-2. Mitchell Piggon and Danny Edmonds completed the scored for Hartshill.   

Rogue Elite stay top of EJ Group Ltd Division One, but they could only draw 2-2 with Drayton Res, who move into third spot. Jack Crowfoot and Ben Bates scored the Rogue Elite goals. Hansom Cabs are up to fourth courtesy of their 5-3 win over Chetwynd Phoenix. Adam Zia and Jake Brown both scored twice, Will Brown the other. Sam Jones scored twice in reply for Chetwynd, Sam Bircher their other goal. Jake Perry and Jack Price both bagged hat tricks for Griff & Coton Manor as they won their first league game of the season beating Bedworth Liberals 8-0. Michael Meacham and Ryan Drake scored the others. 

SS Bulls Head maintained their three-point advantage at the top of Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two with a 3-1 win over Athletico Duke. Kaine Finch scored all three Ss Bulls Head goals, Connor Pugh replied for Athletico. Whitestone stay in second after they beat Stoneycroft Utd 8-1. Jack Edwards 2, Adam Barber, Jack O’Leary, Lewis Wilkinson, Rob Ison and Dave Ison were among their goals. Royal Athletic stay third but were held to a 1-1 draw by Acorn. Jordan White scored the Acorn goal. Barwell Cricketers moved into mid table thanks to their 4-4 draw with Crows Nest Sports. 

Red Lion Sapcote take over top spot in Nuneaton Trophies & Giftware Division Three after they beat Attleboro Sports 2-1 with George Harding and Ben Harding scoring their goals. Dean Horne’s hat trick helped Sunnyside Inn to a 6-2 win over Attleboro FC. Steve Pywell, Corey Cousins and Luke Taylor completed the scoring, Tom Holland and Jake Bryan replied for Attleboro. Chris Camwell bagged a hat trick for Trent Valley helping them to a 3-1 win over Ambleside. Lee Wilkinson scored the Ambleside goal. Carl Ashton was on target for CJ’s, but they went down 3-1 to Chase while Haunchwood Sports Res moved off the bottom with their 3-1 win over LNFC 18.
