Match Day 6 (September 26th 2021) Report

NUNEATON & DISTRICT SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE 

Grendon FC maintained their 100% record  and kept top spot in Bond St Trophies Hinckley Premier One with a 2-0 win over Drayton thanks to goals from Tim Read and Lewis Palfreyman. Hartshill Sports are into second after they beat Haunchwood 5-3 while Poplar drop to third after drawing 1-1 with Fuzzy Duck. Danny Taylor scored the Poplar goal, Cameron Fox replied for Fuzzy Duck. Lamb & Flag stay in fourth, but they went down 6-1 to Frank Parker, while goals from Ben Brookes, Ben Beresford, Kieran Graham and Brad Jenkins helped Witherley Utd to their first win in Premier One as they beat Ridge Lane 4-2.

EJ Group Ltd Division One Leaders Rogue Elite have a three-point lead at the top of the table but missed the chance to extend that a little when they drew 0-0 with Hansom Cabs. Drayton Res leap frogged over Bedworth Travellers after they beat them 5-2 while a point from a 1-1 draw with Saunders was enough to move Griff & Coton Manor into fifth. Bedworth Conservatives moved off the bottom after they beat Chetwynd Phoenix 5-2. Lee Wallace led the way with a hat trick, Michael Harrison, and Adam Cooksley, from his own half, scored the others. 

Mark Blair Mortgage & Finance Division Two have new leaders in Whitestone. Jack Edwards and Liam Eliot both bagged hat tricks as they beat Athletico Duke 6-3. Wayne Davies, Jacob Townsend, and Connor Pugh replied for Duke. SS Bulls Head drop to second following their 5-2 defeat to Collycroft Royal Oak Warriors where Scott Williamson grabbed a hat trick. Jamie Matthews and Kyle Aubrey added the Collycroft singles. Kaine Finch and Josh Atkinson scored the SS Bulls Head replies. Acorn are up to fifth after they beat Chetwynd Phoenix Res 4-1, Eliot Chamberlain scored the Chetwynd goal, while Crows Nest Sports picked up their first league win of the season with 3-2 win over Ashby Road Sports.  Bedworth Liberals Res moved off the bottom after collecting their first league point of the season in a 5-5 draw with Swan Dive. 

Red Lion Sapcote regain top spot in Nuneaton Trophies & Awards Division Three even after they were beaten 2-1 by Attleboro FC , following the resignation of Green Bear FC, and the subsequent division adjustments. Kieran Almey scored the Red Lion goal, Jacob Bryan and Honest Ndlovu winning it for Attleboro. Sunnyside top  for a few hours thanks to their 6-3 win over Green Bear who later resigned.  

Chase are up to second thanks to a 4-1 win over Haunchwood Sports Res. Attleboro Sports are up to third after beating CJ’s 2-1. Matthew Atherton scored the CJ’s goal. Ambleside moved into mid table thanks to their 6-2 win over LNFC 18. 

White Hart take over top spot in Raihan’s Indian Takeaway Division Four thanks to their 3-1 win over Lamb & Flag Res. Corey Mills score the Lamb & Flag goal from a 35-yard free kick. Phoenix Utd moved into second and came from 2-1 down against Red Lion Barwell before winning 4-2. Michael Cornish, 2. Kyle Sisson and Ben Whittaker scored the Phoenix goals, Michael Sparkes and Ben Newton replied for Red Lion. Bedworth Bank drop to third after they drew 2-2 with Griff & Coton Manor Res while Coniston’s 7-2 win over New Baron Lions takes them into fourth spot. Dylan Perry, Jason Swain, and an own goal helped Conny Panthers to a 3-3 draw with Attleboro Sports Res. Mark Brough, Brad Matheson and Cameron Greenfield replied for Sports. Nathan Turner’s hat trick helped Tarro Lounge Caterpillar to all three points as they beat Bermuda Park 3-1.
