History - 1966 to Present Day


The Premier League Championship was first played for in the League in season 1966-67. The competition is a League  of Clubs competing for the HONOUR of being crowned as CHAMPIONS. This Season 2022-2023 the Champions were POPLAR ATHLETIC FC and the Runners-Up FRANK PARKER FC.

POPLAR ATHLETIC FC this seasons Champions joined the NUNEATON & DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE, when they moved from the Coventry & District Sunday League in 2008.  Following their arrival they have lifted the converted "BRASS MAN" Premier Trophy on no few than 4 occasions in 2016, 2018, 2022 & 2023 being Runners-up a further 3 times in 2015, 2017 & 2019, placing them in the TOP TWO for 7 of 10 years they have been with the NDSFL.

FRANK PARKER FC this seasons Runners Up are one of the most successful Clubs in the NUNEATON & DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE history, having been Champions on 11 occasions with a run of 7 consecutive Titles between 1992 and 1999  and wins  2000, 2001, 2002 and 2020 whilst also being Runners-Up 4 times in 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2023.
